General

The Flight Crew Operating Manual, which comes with your aircraft, will likely answer most of your questions.

IMPORTANT: In XP8 the plug-in of Benedikt Stratman's very nice Boeing 737 must be deactivated in order to enable my Airbus to function correctly. In XP9 this problem des not exist.

A plane may plane perform vertical oscillations while using the autopilot. - The Flight Envelope Protection or Fly-by-Wire system MUST be turned OFF before engaging the autopilot.

XP 9 Upgrades

All Airbus models now are upgraded for XP9. The other planes will follow. I deeply regret that this takes so long. But XP9 went through a series of fundamental bugs, which cost me several month of extra work.

The A330 series requires 9.22 and cannot be used with 9.30. A quick update for 9.30beta7 will be distributed these days. For the MRTT it is already available.

The A340 series is still on the 9.02 level and will be updated to 9.30 soon. See notes below at XP 9.30 beta7.

XP 9.22

PlaneMaker of XP 9.20-22 has a severe bug, appears in XP under certain conditions.

1 - Aircraft having received panel element vie copy & paste from older aircraft (prior to 9.21) are affected and can only be repaired in PlaneMaker 9.30. This bug causes the panel to appear with black moirées if the new layered lighting system is used. Planes using the legacy lighting system show black areas in place of intruments.

2 - AI aircraft used as traffic MUST be have been saved in 9.22 or they might cause a serious loss of frame rate or other problems in XP.

Point 1 applies to my A330 series. A fix, as mentioned above, will come with 9.30.

In 9.22 the thrust model is confused, providing insufficient thrust at cruise altitude. My XP9 models work around this by using modified airfoils. These aircraft are not for use with 9.30.

XP 9.30 beta7

Starting with the A330-200 MRTT, I provide a quick update of the A330 series for 9.30 beta7, to fix the black- moirée bug mentioned above, and to meet the requirements of the new thrust model, which still might be subject to modification. So thrust will be precise at take-off and halfways correct up to service ceiling, but the corresponding values of N1, N2, EPR, EGT and Fuel Flow are not tuned to meet the real values. This takes a lot of time and will be done once 9.30 is final.

Introduction of animated 3D objects

Preliminary work on the A380 lead to development of 3D modelling and animation of exterior objects. Many users requested this since a long time. As a first result, a set of high definition 3D landing gear objects has been installed on the A330-200 MRTT, released on 1st April 2009. This is just a test period. The MRTT acf file has been modified to work with those parts, so they won't fit to the other A330. If everything goes as planned, I will publish high definition 3D models covering the entire plane for all A330/340 Airbus models as soon as possible. The landing gear will be an integrated part of those.
